last Tuesday we had a well attended outing to the church in Rhuddlan.

We received a nice that you from the church and hopefully those who attended got some good pictures.

At least by looking at Dave’s drone shots, the church knows the condition of their roof!

Chris went out early and shot a few of his moody landscapes and put them on our Facebook pages

and not to be outdone – Geoff sent a few images in:

Lots of members will have pictures and these will no doubt appear in this year’s competitions.

So what’s on next week at the club?

Well next week we are at the Community Centre with the promise of Barrie and Ron’s superb catering.

The activity for the evening is to bring along a good number of your pictures as PDI’s on a memory stick so that we can then look through them and then, as the title of the activity suggests, decide ‘Is it Printworthy?’

The NWPA Newsletter Editor Christine Langford, has sent out an issue containing the following information:

The following Exhibitions/Salons are now open for entries:

Shrewsbury  c/d  5 October

These are given to encourage more of our members to test themselves
by entering salons.   All the details will be found on the websites of the various organisations on the attached list of annual BPEs.

Notice that our Chris has had considerable success in the different Salons – well done.

A reminder from our fine Treasurer Barrie that the subs are now due to be paid – the princely sum of £40.

Also a reminder for you to bring along your small object to Rhuddlan on Tuesday – having of course took your own photographs of it first!! Y
ou will then hopefully be able to take someone elses home to photograph that.

Our Very own John Smith Recently receiving his Honorary NWPA award from NWPA president Charles Meadows, Well done John

Johns Proposal for this honour reads below

I would like to nominate John Smith of Rhyl Photographic Society for an award for meritous service
The reasoning is for all the work he does behind the scenes and his tireless work for the NWPA print battle and PDI battle including pre and post show involvement as well as on the actual day! this includes creating an AV slideshow for clubs to present to their memberstoviewattheirleisure
John has also supported my former club Prestatyn on several occasions as well as many other clubs affiliated to the NWPA by coming along and sharing his knowledge and giving various presentations, John is also an NWPA judge and gladly gives his time and evenings ,sharing his skills and knowledge for the benefit of others, he is also the
delegate for Rhyl Photographic Society at the NWPA meetings, the secretary for Rhyl Photographic Society and is the webmaster for an AV group he belongs to in Cheshire and is extremely involved in
I feel John is a great asset for the NWPA and the North Wales photography scene and deserves an award as recognition for all his hard work over the years

Rhyl Photographic society members had a great result in the North Wales Photographic Alliance photographic affiliated members competition held on the 8th June 2025 in Llandudno and run by Mold Camera Club We managed to achieve Gold in the open Mono , 5 commended and highest overall individual score !
